More than 100 people have signed a petition seeking to oust the school superintendent in Freeman.
Detractors of Superintendent Don Hotchkiss allege that he intimidates students and parents, doesn't properly deal with bullying and prevents exchange students from enrolling, among other issues.
Hotchkiss said there is "plenty of misinformation, opinion and outright untruths."
"The Public Complaint Policy of the Freeman Public School has not been followed by the individuals who presented the petition," Hotchkiss said. "It is time to move on with the business of Freeman Public Schools and that is what I intend to do."
Hotchkiss also states in a press release that several individuals signed to the petition do not live within the boundries of the school district.
The petition has been submitted to the school board.
