It's goodies on the go for Elizabeth Aleman who wrapped up her stay in Sioux Falls on a business trip.
"I came up to Sioux Falls for work for the week and I have not experienced snow like this before, I'm from San Antonio, Texas, and I just checked the weather and it's a warm 52 with a high of 80, so I'm looking forward to getting back to that," Aleman said.
Aleman does a lot of traveling for her work. She admits she actually likes the snow.
"We have those nice temperatures all year round, but we don't get things like snow in the winter. So this is absolutely a treat for me, but only in small portions. I think as a tourist I could do this for a week but I don't know how the people of Sioux Falls do this all winter," Aleman said.
That's exactly the reason why Adam Larson and his family are leaving town.
"It has been so cold and we just want to get away and get to some warmer weather. We're going to go to Florida for a couple of days and just sit on the beach for a couple of days," Adam Larson said
"I like to fly on airplanes and I like vacations because they are fun and we don't have to go to school," Mayce and Sonya Larson said.
But some travelers had a hard time getting to their final destination.
"Our kids and grandkids are all going to Fort Myers and we're all on different flights and our flight is canceled," Debbie Luther said.
And while several people are trying to get away, some enjoyed their stay here in the Midwest, even in the middle of winter.
"One of my favorite places is Sioux Falls. People don't know how good the food is here and how nice the people are so it's nice to be able to come here and enjoy the people and the food," Aleman said.
