Before the seats are filled and all the booths are set up, Arena Convention Center officials have been working hard to make sure parking will be the least of your worries for these weekend events.
"To prepare for it we have removed all of the snow that has stock piled since the last few months. We wanted to make sure that every single parking space is available," Arena Convention Center General Manager Terry Torkildson said.
For now spots are empty and snow is out of the way for drivers, but what if we get more snow? The Arena Convention Center already has a plan for that.
"If we continue to get snow we will do the same thing, we will not pile up, it will be every single space available," Torkildson said.
While these two events have fallen on the same weekend before, Torkildson says he's not worried but he knows this is not something our area is used to.
"People in Sioux Falls aren't used to doing some of those things. So, it's the big events that they are going to have to get used to," Torkildson says.
If you want to help out with parking though, or even ensure a slightly easier time there is something you can do.
"Parking shouldn't be a problem as long, as people are smart about how they park. We always encourage people to carpool when we have big events together like this but with the shuttles and the off site parking like this, everything should be just fine," Torkildson said.
Parking is available at the arena convention center along with Elmwood golf course and McCart Field. Both of which will have a free shuttle running every five minutes. For more information check out the Sioux Empire Home Show website or our Summit League page.
