Iszabella Morgan

MITCHELL, SD -

Mitchell leaders are considering renaming a city park after a 9-year-old girl who died in a crash allegedly caused by a drunk driver fleeing police.

Iszabella Morgan died March 24 when the vehicle she was in was hit by a vehicle allegedly driven by Michael Sedlmeier. The Mitchell man has pleaded not guilty to several charges including manslaughter and is to stand trial in August.

The proposal to rename Northridge Park is being sent to the city park board. City Councilman Mel Olson says that if the park board and council approve, the park could be rededicated September 6, Iszabella's birth date.
