Paddle Fair Lets People Test The Water

June 8, 2014, 5:45 PM by Leland Steva

Paddle Fair Lets People Test The Water

The South Dakota Canoe and Kayak Association allowed people of all ages to test the waters on different sporting boats. The annual Paddle Fair at Family Park let people grab a paddle free of charge and try out everything from canoes, to kayaks, to stand-up paddle boards.

"This is just a great way for people to try and 10-foot boat, maybe try a 17-foot boat. Get in a canoe, compare that to a kayak, compare that to a stand-up paddleboard. Just see what the differences are, see what they like, not every boat is built the same and each one will perform slightly differently," Jarett Bies of the South Dakota Canoe and Kayak Association said.

For upcoming events from the association, visit its Facebook page.
