The dog days of summer tend to bring out the warmest temperatures of the year, but that is not stopping some of our area pools from closing their doors for the season.
There are only two city pools left open for the year, Kuehn Park and the Laurel Oak Family Aquatic Center, which still has a steady stream of visitors even after the rains early Saturday morning.
For some of the younger pool goers who want to spend time outside, the idea of pools closing now is a hard one to understand.
"I know! I mean, it's still so hot, they should have it open all the time,” swimmers Ava Sevening and Victoria Booth said.
For those looking to enjoy the pools before they close, Kuehn and Laurel Oak will shut their doors for the year on September 1st.
