A one vehicle crash west of Bryant on SD Highway 28 on Sunday, September 15 resulted in one injury and a fire. The crash happened around 10:20 a.m.
The vehicle was heading eastbound on SD Highway 28. The driver reached for something inside the vehicle and lost control sending it into the south ditch hitting an approach causing the vehicle to go airborne. Once the vehicle landed, it rolled at least twice before coming to a stop.
The vehicle caught fire and the driver was able to escape.
The driver was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There were no passengers.
Speed and alcohol were not a factor and the driver was wearing a seatbelt.
