A Minnesota woman is dead after a three-vehicle crash on Highway 14 east of Brookings.
It happened on Sunday just before 3 p.m. when the victim, 20-year-old Madeline Gawreluk, lost control on the snow-packed, icy highway and slid into the eastbound lane. She struck a Dodge Ram pickup and then was hit a Ford F150 pickup.
Gawreluk was transported to a local hospital where she later died.
The two passengers in the Dodge were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The passengers in the Ford pickup didn’t have any injuries.
The Highway Patrol is investigating.
