Police say at least one person is dead in a crash at Minnesota Avenue and 41st Street that created chaos for drivers over the lunch hour.
Officers say an SUV speeding north on Minnesota Avenue at 65 to 100 miles per hour hit another SUV at the intersection of 41st Street and Minnesota Avenue. The second SUV spun around and hit a pickup. The SUV that had been speeding hit a sign at Taylor's Pantry gas station and ended up on its top in the parking lot.
Multiple ambulances responded to the crash. Police say there are numerous injuries but they don't know exactly how many people were hurt.
Authorities have put a tarp up in the lot and officers are directing traffic. The intersection remains open, but at least three lanes as closed as officers investigate.
Drivers should expect delays if they are in the area.
