One person has died Thursday in a two vehicle crash on Highway 42, about 10 miles east of the junction with U.S. Highway 81.
A 2008 KIA Sedona was going east on Highway 42, nearing the intersection with 447th Avenue. A 2007 Peterbilt semi-truck stopped at the stop sign on 447th Avenue, then pulled onto the highway to turn west.
The KIA struck the trailer of the semi-truck.
The driver of the KIA was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.
The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
The names of the people involved are being withheld until relatives have been notified.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating.
