One Arrested, One At Large For Harrisburg Rape

One Arrested, One At Large For Harrisburg Rape
Obadiah Loyira

HARRISBURG, SD -

Lincoln County authorities have already arrested one man and are looking for another for raping a 12-year-old girl.

On Wednesday afternoon investigators said they were looking for 19-year-old Obadiah Loyira. He is one of two men facing rape and child porn charges.

Elizeo Kalimba, 20, of Sioux Falls has already been arrested in connection with the rape of the 12-year-old girl.

It's an investigation that started Friday night when a Lincoln County Deputy Sheriff was called to the Avera McKennan emergency room where the victim reported that she had been sexually assaulted.

Lincoln County authorities have an arrest warrant for Loyira. According to an affidavit in support of that warrant he is one of three suspects who was at the Harrisburg home at 303 Jeannie Lane on January 15 when the alleged crimes took place.

The victim said one of the suspects drove her there and she said that Loyira, who also goes by the nickname 'J' or 'JJ,' raped her at the house and took illegal pictures of her with his cell phone.

Loyira lives at the home and investigators say that the victim was able to pick the man out in a photo line up.

After taking out a search warrant for the house, a Lincoln County detective talked with Loyira and he admitted he had sex with the 12-year-old girl, but investigators were still trying to piece the case together and didn't arrest him.

Now they believe he raped the victim and are asking for the public's help in finding him.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office does not believe Loyira is a danger to the public but they are looking for him.

He's described as a black man, six feet tall, 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

If you see Loyira call the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office at (605) 764-5651 or CrimeStoppers at 1-877-367-7007.

Kalimba is in custody and being held on a $25,000 bond.

Officials are still investigating the third suspect.
