Sioux Falls police have arrested two men, who they believe, could be responsible for five recent robberies in the city.
After investigating and searching a home, police arrested 24-year-old Jonathon Thomas Julson and 20-year-old Joshua David Porth for an armed robbery at the Kum & Go on 69th Street and Western Avenue. Police also think these men were connected to the armed robberies at Paradise Casino, Domino's Pizza, Freedom Gas Station and the Kum & Go on East 26th Street.
Officers noted a license plate from a vehicle near the scene during Friday morning's robbery. Police tracked down the vehicle after the robbery. That's where they found Julson and Porth.
From there, Sioux Falls Police Chief Doug Barthel says officers got a warrant and searched a home on South Covell Avenue. They found enough evidence at this home to charge the men with first degree robbery. In addition, Julson was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Barthel says this case wasn't solved by a tip, but instead it was good old-fashioned police work.
A female was also in the vehicle when police pulled the men over, but Barthel says she was not involved.
Detectives are still investigating and further charges from the other robberies are pending.
