PIERRE, SD -
The logistics of mourning former South Dakota Gov. Bill Janklow are expected to be revealed as legislators and law-enforcement officials determine the best route for Janklow's body to travel from Pierre to Sioux Falls.
The 72-year-old Janklow - also a former congressman - died of cancer Thursday. His body is to lie in state at the Capitol Rotunda in Pierre on Tuesday before being transferred to Sioux Falls for a funeral service.
Janklow's son Russ tells the Associated Press that his father's funeral has been set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Savoir's Lutheran Church. A reception and burial will follow, but exact details aren't finalized.
Janklow served four terms leading the state but resigned as South Dakota's congressman after causing a fatal traffic accident.
This article has been revised to reflect the following correction:
This story from the Associated Press stated Janklow resigned as governor following a deadly crash. He resigned from Congress after the Moody County crash.
