Authorities have released the name of a 23-year-old Spearfish man found dead over the weekend a short distance from his abandoned vehicle.
Lawrence County chief deputy Joe Harmon says a snowplow operator found the body of Jerald Krejci on Saturday. The man's vehicle had become stuck after sliding off a private road northwest of Spearfish.
An autopsy is being conducted and the death is under investigation.
A strong winter storm passed through the region on Friday and Saturday, but investigators have not determined Krejci's time of death.
