Officials Continue To Investigate Fatal Fire

December 23, 2012, 3:45 PM

Officials Continue To Investigate Fatal Fire
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Officials continue to investigate a fire that killed two children and a teenager on Saturday.

Rescue officials at Battalion 3 say the case has been turned over to the fire investigations bureau to find out exactly what caused the fire to break out.

The fire gutted the entire two story house at 1100 North Main Street.

Investigators say 16-year-old Michael Hensely, 12-year-old Savannah Coon and 6-year-old Alivia Coon died together in an upstairs room.

Two adults were able to get outside but did suffer from injuries that sent them to the hospital.

There is a small memorial near the edge of the property.

Because of the extensive damage, officials say they are having a problem securing the area but they have put up boards over the charred windows to prevent anyone from going inside.

And on Sunday night, friends of the family are holding a candle light vigil in honor of Michael, Savannah and Olivia.

We're told they will begin gathering at the house at 8:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
