The mother of nine-year-old Becky O'Connell said she never thought she would see the day when the time was set for Donald Moeller to die.
Tina Curl thought because of her health problems she may never see Moeller die.
"With all my health problems, I never thought I'd see this day. I thought he'd outlive me and I want to be there to watch. I will be there," Curl said.
Curl now lives in New York state with her husband and is planning to travel to South Dakota in October to witness the execution. She also plans to visit the site in rural Lincoln County where her daughter was killed.
"The day Moeller is put to death I'll go back to the crime scene and I'll never go back again,” Curl said.
Curl says she thinks about her daughter every day and even has a tattoo of her name with angel wings on her arm.
Curl believes the only reason Moeller is now accepting his punishment is because he knows his appeals are over.
“It took him 22 years to accept responsibility. I thought he kept denying it for 22 years. It’s only because his appeals ran out. Now he wants to play the role of a man. He ain’t one.”
