Northern State University has graduated the largest class in its history.
311 students walked across the stage during commencement exercises this year. Of those, 66 received a master's degree and nine obtained an associate's degree.
The keynote address was given by NSU alumnus Darryl Tonemah. He sits on various state and national boards addressing disparities in education and health care among the Native community.
The ceremony featured nine flags representing the home nations of NSU's class of 2014.
Northern State was founded in 1901 and is one of South Dakota's six public universities.
