Rep. Kristi Noem has been appointed as a member of the Farm Bill conference committee by House Speaker John Boehner. The committee will work to reconcile the differences the House and Senate have in their Farm Bills. Both sides have been working to complete a five year Farm Bill that works for South Dakota’s agricultural producers.
The committee’s negotiated final product, called a conference report, would need final approval by both the House and the Senate before getting the President’s signature.
Noem is the first South Dakota House member to be appointed to the committee since 1996.
