No Closure For Becky O'Connell's Family

The family of Becky O'Connell says justice has been done for their daughter, but they still do not have closure.

O'Connell's mother and stepfather, Tina and Dave Curl, were witnesses to the execution of Donald Moeller.  During a news conference that followed, the couple shared photos of Becky at nine years old when she was killed, photos of her grave where they went for her 32nd birthday and a portrait done by a law enforcement official of what she might look like today. 

Dave Curl says the couple thinks of Becky every day along with all the 'what ifs' that they live with.

"We despise this so-called man.  The death of Donald Moeller will not give us closure; there will never be closure for us," Curl said.

The Curls say they are sick of hearing how much it cost the state to house Moeller for the 22 years since he raped and killed their daughter.

"It cost us our daughter," Curl said. 

Curl ended his statement by thanking the law enforcement and court officials who helped with the case throughout the years, including Phil Toft, who did the age-enhanced photo of O'Connell.

The couple drove to Sioux Falls this week from New York to witness the execution.
