Nine Businesses Fail Alcohol Compliance Check

Minnehaha County's Sheriff's Department carried out a liquor compliance check this week.

Out of the 67 area businesses tested, clerks at nine of them sold alcohol to someone under 21.

The businesses that failed:

  • Palisades Oil (Garretson)
  • Garretson Food Center
  • Heart T Stop (Hartford)
  • T&C's Other Place (Dell Rapids)
  • Midway Corner
  • Friendly's (Baltic)
  • Brecks Bar and Grill
  • Pump House (Valley Springs)
  • Blaine's (Brandon)

These checks included businesses with either liquor or malt beverage licenses.

Law enforcement carries out checks periodically in an effort to reduce the incidents of underage purchase of alcoholic beverages.
