SIOUX FALLS, SD -
Sioux Falls police officers think they may have cracked a recent string of home burglary cases.
29-year-old Patrick Michael VanWagner will be in court Monday afternoon, facing first-degree burglary charges.
According to court documents, VanWagner is a newspaper carrier and targeted homes where residents suspended their subscriptions while they were out of town. Police say he stole about $2,300 in rare coins and jewelry from a home on the 5800 block of West Bristol Drive.
Police were tipped off to VanWagner after he tried to sell some of the items to pawn shops. Police believe he could be tied to several other robberies under similar circumstances.
