A new commercial development called the Westridge Mall is going up in western Sioux Falls and will be the new home for Shenanigan's Pub, which is moving out of the Empire Mall after decades in that location.
Peska Construction has submitted two sets of plans to the city of Sioux Falls for the $3.3 million commercial development on the southwest corner of W. 26th Street and Ellis Road.
One of the strip malls will be 30,000 square feet and have room for 12 different tenants. A separate 7,200 square foot strip mall will have room for four businesses. Two of the spaces are already leased.
The Shenanigan’s building is valued at $1.2 million and will be a restaurant and bar with a full-service kitchen and video lottery area.
Construction on Shenanigan's will start on April 21 with a target opening date for September 1. Construction on the smaller strip mall will start in May, to be complete in October. Ground will be broken on the larger strip mall in July, with a competition date for December 1.
