New SkyCams In KELOLAND

by Scot Mundt
To help keep KELOLAND safe, we've once again expanded our network of SkyCams. We're also in the process of increasing our WeatherNet sites. Meteorologist Scot Mundt has more.
Over the last few weeks Shawn Cable has been introducing new WeatherNet sites on our morning newscasts. Our WeatherNets give up to the second temperature, wind, and rainfall readings from across our coverage area. To help fill the gaps in KELOLAND, 25 new sites are expected to be up and running by the start of the school year.
But our growing WeatherNets aren't the only changes you'll be able to see. A person with a keen eye to our newscasts will have noticed two new Sioux Falls SkyCams. These help us with different angles to storms as they pass through Sioux Falls and southeast KELOLAND.
The Sioux Valley SkyCam was introduced about a month ago and is located on top of Sioux Valley Hospital. This location is farther west than our existing SkyCam and helps watch storms roll in from the west.
The latest is our Falls Park SkyCam. This SkyCam is in a great spot to cover the storms to the north of the city. And of course on a sunny day, it's always nice to take in The Falls.
Our expansion of SkyCams and WeatherNets are geared to keep you safe throughout the year.
