New SF Police Cars Hit The Streets

Some Sioux Falls police officers are patrolling the streets in brand new squad cars.

The department purchased ten new Ford Interceptor sedans and eight SUV's.

The department was looking for new cars after Ford stopped making the old Crown Victoria model. The vehicles have a new design, are more fuel efficient and can reach speeds of more than 130 miles an hour.

Within about three years, these will be the only cars on the street as the department phases out the old style.
