New SD Revenue Secretary On The Job
May 25, 2011, 11:54 AM
PIERRE, SD -
South Dakota's new revenue secretary is officially on the job, after returning from overseas military duty.
Newly elected Gov. Dennis Daugaard in December chose Andy Gerlach to head the Department of Revenue and Regulation. Gerlach was serving in Afghanistan with the South Dakota National Guard at the time.
Gerlach and other members of the 196th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade early this month returned from their yearlong deployment. Gerlach on Monday took the reins from Deputy Secretary David Wiest, who was interim revenue secretary in his absence.
