A new juvenile corrections program will open this summer near Sioux Falls.
The South Dakota Department of Corrections juvenile division has awarded a bid to Sequel Youth & Family Services to create a 32-bed group care program that will provide transitional services to DOC youth returning to the Sioux Falls area.
Sequel will lease state-owned property and operate the Sequel Transition Academy program. The program will offer services to youth who have been placed out of state and are returning to the community.
The first youth is expected to be admitted to the program by June 1.
