New Generator To Power KELO-TV During Outages

Just in time for severe weather season, KELOLAND-TV is taking a major step to ensure you stay informed when severe weather knocks out power.

On Tuesday, crews carefully lowered a new generator into place outside the station.

Weighing in at 35 tons and filling up five parking spaces, the generator means a seamless transition to back-up power.  We will be able to power all of our weather equipment and report live from anywhere in the state even in the event of a massive power outage.
