On Thursday, the Sioux Falls Area Drug Task Force arrived at the home near Brandon with a search warrant and knocked on the door. The man who answered, 29-year-old Jon Michael Tucker, now faces drug charges.
"Neighborhood rumors always float around that that's the neighborhood drug house," neighbor John Storm said.
"They found controlled substances, methamphetamine and found marijuana and drug paraphernalia. There was one male taken into custody and arrested from the residence," Sgt. Pete Jaros said.
The news spread quickly to those who live nearby, and it only confirmed some neighborhood conversations that have gone on for nearly a decade.
"Neighbors have said that they've noticed vehicles at strange hours and different commotions. I never talked to him, the guy is a loner. He just comes out and does yard work and that's about it," Storm said.
Storm lives right across the street and his wife runs a daycare out of their home. The fact that this bust happened so close to their home and business is a major problem.
"Being this close to a daycare is concerning. You hear about all the other incidents around town with finding drug paraphernalia in the ditches and all that is concerning," Storm said.
Even though an arrest was made, that does not mean this case is over.
"They took some stuff from the house that they'll have tested. So, there may be additional charges further on down the road and there will be an additional arrest," Jaros said.
Now, Storm hopes that these rumors disappear and their neighborhood gets that much safer.
"I hope maybe the place can get sold and somebody a little more reputable could be in there. We've got a good neighborhood here," Storm said.
Law enforcement officials are still looking for the owner of the home, 53-year-old Bradley Wagner, who was not home during the raid. Officials tell us he's been in trouble before. If you know where he is, call police.
