This weekend's Sioux Falls Air Show is flying in tandem with Navy Week.
Friday’s kickoff to Navy Week included the presentation of a U.S. flag that flew atop the ship USS Rushmore on the Fourth of July.
Sioux Falls is one of only 15 cities hosting Navy Week.
“We definitely have a long tradition of embracing those who serve our country,” Sioux Falls Mayor Mike Huether said. “And I would encourage all of Sioux Falls, all of South Dakota, all of the people in this area to come out and enjoy the many free family events and activities planned for Navy Week.”
Navy planes will be featured at this weekend's Air Show and Navy divers will show off their skills during demonstrations in Sioux Falls next week.
