Municipal Band Named First Act To Play At Event Center
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

It's official: The Sioux Falls Municipal Band will be the first act to perform at the T. Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.

Mayor Mike Huether made the announcement today during Independence Day celebrations at Falls Park. The honor was a complete surprise to the band director who found out alongside everyone else.

"We are thrilled," Sioux Falls Municipal Band Director Christopher Hill said. "We knew we were going to be involved in part of the opening but we didn't know we'd be the first band on that stage. We are thrilled and excited beyond belief."

The event center is scheduled to open this fall. Three other concerts have been announced: Cher, Eric Church and Jason Aldean.
