Emergency crews in eastern KELOLAND had a very busy afternoon.

South Dakota Highway Patrol troopers and other emergency officials were busy Thursday responding to what seemed like crash after crash on both Interstates 90 and 29.

State officials say one crash in particular in Humboldt involved more than 20 vehicles. This crash prompted officials to close I-90 westbound from Sioux Falls to Salem. It was reopened by 5:45 p.m.

Another crash on I-29 near the Tea area involved more than a dozen vehicles.

But despite the large number of vehicles involved, Terry Woster with the Department of Public Safety says no one died in these crashes.

Both city and state officials are advising you not to travel in much of eastern South Dakota. A blizzard warning is in effect until Thursday evening.
