Movie Theater To Open Inside Sturgis Saloon

March 16, 2014, 9:56 AM

Sturgis is getting a new movie house that serves dinner and drinks.

A theater seating about 70 is opening Friday inside the Easyriders Saloon. It will feature a full bar, recliner-style chairs and a kids' arcade.

Moviegoers will be able to enjoy popcorn, a burger, a burrito or a host of other menu items while catching the latest flick on the 10-foot-by-16-foot screen.

The idea has been a goal of the city council for the past several years, and officials approached Easyriders's owners about the possibility.

Sturgis' Mayor Mark Carstensen says residents no longer have to leave town for entertainment.

Ticket prices are $5 for a movie only, but that can be taken off the bill if dinner is ordered.
