Elementary and high schools have already started classes in Sioux Falls, and later this week Augustana College will kick off the new school year too.
Today is move-in day at Augie as the school rolls out the blue and yellow carpet for its class of 2018. A freshman class of around 400 students joins Augie's student body.
Sunny weather and an enthusiastic welcoming party greeted the excited new Vikings in KELOLAND's largest city.
“I'm really, really excited, I don't think I've ever been this excited in a very long time, I feel like I drank twenty cups of coffee. I just feel very, very, very excited, so,” Incoming freshman Kelsey Stotz said.
Most of the members of Augie's class of 2018 will spend their first year at school in either Bergsaker or Solberg Hall.
Tonight at 10 we'll give it the ol' college try as we hear more from Kelsey, college president Rob Oliver and a father dropping his daughter off at college.
