Mount Marty College Names Interim President

June 10, 2014, 6:34 AM

YANKTON, S.D. -

YANKTON, S.D. (AP) - Mount Marty College has named longtime Sioux Falls Catholic Schools Administrator Thomas Lorang as its interim president.

Lorang will lead the Yankton school as it looks for a successor to Joseph Benoit, who resigned last month less than three years after being hired to resume a science teaching and research career.

Lorang has been administrator of Sioux Falls Catholic Schools since 1991. He had already decided to retire at the end of June. Until then he will work part-time at Mount Marty's main campus in Yankton.

The school has about 600 students on its main campus, and another 500 students at facilities in Watertown and Sioux Falls.
