A South Sioux City, Nebraska, mother who left her two-year-old child alone in a car will not be facing charges.
After investigating, Union County authorities say the mother forgot to take her daughter to day care, after dropping her other children off at school, something she normally doesn’t do.
When the child's father went to get her from day care on January 7, she wasn’t there. The mother had left her in the car for about nine hours while she went to work.
After realizing she left her daughter in the car, she immediately took her to the hospital.
Authorities, hospital staff and the Nebraska Department of Human Services reviewed the case and the Union County State’s Attorney will not be pressing child abuse or neglect charges.
