Moreau-Grand Electric Hit Hard
January 22, 2010, 3:16 PM
One electric cooperative was hit hard a little more than a year ago, but officials with the utility say what they face now makes that struggle look easy.
Moreau-Grand Electric Cooperative out of Timber Lake has every one of its 2,500 members in the southern half of its service area in the dark. General manager Melissa Maher says two main transmission lines feed power to those customers and both are down due to structural damage.
The cooperative's feed from the north has been on and off. When it's down, all of Moreau-Grand's 3,800 members are without power.
Officials don't know when power will be restored.
