SIOUX FALLS, SD -
After much public criticism, the Sioux Falls Charter Revision Commission is tabling a recommendation that would have given the mayor more power.
Friday evening’s meeting was the last time you could give your input.
After about an hour of discussion and public input, commission member Dennis Aanenson moved to table an amendment to the city's charter that would have given the mayor control of things like contracts and employee discipline.
Member Dick Gregerson was just one of the few members who voiced concern over it and even called it a controversial topic.
Bob Thimjon, who seconded Aenenson's motion, reminded the public that the commission had not recommended this idea at this point.
It was the general consensus that the commission take more time to look at this issue.
