Tuesday's messy commute may be just a taste of what's headed our way. A narrow band of snow moved through southeast KELOLAND this morning, dumping 3.5" in Sioux Falls and 5" in Kimball, Bridgewater, Humboldt, Lake Park, and Salem.
A stronger storm system will move from Colorado to Wisconsin Wednesday through Thursday. Winter Storm Warnings and Blizzard Warnings are already posted. The best chance for snow in KELOLAND will be in northwest Iowa.
After that system leaves, another one may develop and move through the Central Plains, taking aim at KELOLAND.
It looks a lot like the system that rolled through November 10.
While that storm didn't leave much rain in KELOLAND, the overall weather pattern of a trough in the jet stream was noted. Computer models show a similar pattern next week and this time we'll have a better chance of seeing moisture.
With Christmas next week, this is something we'll definitely be watching in the days ahead.
