More Details In Alienation Of Affection Lawsuit

More Details In Alienation Of Affection Lawsuit
RAPID CITY, SD -

Thursday, the jurors who will determine whether Pennington County State's Attorney Glenn Brenner stole the affections of another man's wife heard about yet another relationship.

The woman who's affections are at the center of a Rapid City lawsuit returned to the stand.

Kellie Brenner spoke about her relationship with Glenn Brenner and admitted she first tried to kiss him at a Rapid City hotel in July of 2009, but that her advance was rejected.

Glenn Brenner backed up that statement. The two say their relationship didn't become physical until that September, a month before Kellie filed for divorce from Doug Rumpca.

And while Glenn Brenner is accused of ending that marriage, Kellie told jurors it wasn't her first extramarital affair.  She said she had an intimate relationship with family friend, Chris Legner.  It ended shortly before the couple's divorce.

When called to the stand by Brenner's defense team, Chris Legner had a different story.

Legner confirmed that he and Kellie were friends, but said the relationship remained platonic.

Brenner's attorney, Mike Hickey, challenged Legner's statement, citing conflicting testimony given by Legner at his deposition in January of 2011.

At that time, Legner denied any romantic involvement.  Then a month later, he acknowledged that the two had kissed on one occasion.

Legner admitted to lying under oath, but continued to deny any sexual interactions with Kellie. Hickey reminded him that he was under oath, to which Legner responded, "Yeah, so are you."

The trial continued Thursday afternoon with the reading of a deposition from a pastor who used to council the Rumpcas.
Closing arguments are expected to begin Friday morning.
