More Americans Try Online Dating

From apps on your phone to dating sites online, finding love through technology is becoming more accepted and is growing in popularity.

Marketing experts say more people are turning to online dating because it's convenient.

“To a point there's a convenience, a lot of the perceptions that people have is that they are able to search through a much greater pool of candidates and they can narrow things down based on what they are interested in,” social media expert Tamara Parliament said.

Jessica Fernandez is off the market but she says her friend met his wife online.

“I just think if you're young and went to school and you're trying to find someone to settle down with, I think finding someone online is a great way,” Fernandez said.

According to, around 40 million Americans use online dating services. The company also found 44 percent of American adults are single. This means there are more than 100 millions Americans who are unattached.
