More Alzheimer's Drugs Needed

July 3, 2014, 12:51 PM by Jaine Andrews

More Alzheimer's Drugs Needed
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Researchers are calling for more medications to be developed to treat Alzheimer's.

Without a successful treatment, it's estimated there will be 16-million Americans suffering with Alzheimers by the year 2050.

Now that scientists have a better grasp of how the disease works, they're getting closer to linking the biology to a potential therapy.

Yet researchers have found that the actual number of drugs being developed for Alzheimer's has actually declined since 2009.
