Montgomery's Furniture Buys Traditions, Plans Expansion

June 24, 2013, 9:57 AM by Angela Kennecke

Montgomery's Furniture Buys Traditions, Plans Expansion
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Two Sioux Falls furniture stores are becoming one and opening a new location on 41st Street in a former restaurant.

Montgomery's Furniture has purchased Traditions Furniture and Design.

Montgomery's is expanding to the east of its building on 41st Street and will occupy the restaurant that was most recently the Jumbo Buffet.

The current restaurant will be remodeled and reopened as Montgomery's in the fall.  Eventually a new building will connect the current store with the new one, doubling the size of Montgomery's.

The Traditions store on Phillips Avenue will close for a short time to prepare for inventory liquidation.  Following the sale, the location will no longer be a furniture store.

Traditions owner Julie Grossman will become a senior designer for Montgomery's.

Montgomery's has stores in Sioux Falls, Watertown and Madison.
