Mitchell Police Looking For Man Who Offered Kids Candy

Mitchell police want to talk with a man who reportedly approached two children on Friday over the noon hour.

Police say the man talked with the kids in the 200 block of East 9th Street and offered them candy.  The kids, who are under five years old, say he also told them he wanted to take them home with him.

Parents in the area confronted the man and he left.

He's described as an older Native American male around 5'6", medium build with black and grey shaggy hair. He was wearing a baseball style cap and a heavy black coat.

If you have any information on the man or see someone matching his description, the Department of Public Safety asks that you contact the Police Division at 995-8400 or 911.
