Missing Out On 30 Degree Weather

February 7, 2014, 5:12 PM by Scot Mundt

Missing Out On 30 Degree Weather

As winter's chill continues, the snow remains on the ground. With most of the days being below freezing, the snow and ice have been hard to melt.

Since December 1, Sioux Falls has had temperatures of at least 30 degrees only 27 times. Since 1990, Sioux Falls averages 48 days with high temperatures of at least 30 degrees. For us to get to average, we'll have to have at least 30 degrees every day for the rest of the month and that's NOT happening.

With the cold air in place, we'll have a chance to add to some snow tonight and into Friday. Then temperatures will slowly warm early next week with some 30 degree weather returning to eastern KELOLAND around midweek.
