A state prison inmate who went missing in Rapid City is back in custody.
State corrections officials say 37-year-old Corey Thompson walked away from a minimum-security unit Wednesday, and was apprehended several hours later.
Thompson is serving a 3-year sentence for possession of a controlled substance and grand theft in Pennington County.
