Minnehaha County Considers E-Polling Books

Minnehaha County Considers E-Polling Books

The general election has come and gone but one issue is back on the table.  E-polling could be in the cards for Minnehaha County.

In the November election, Minnehaha County decided to use paper ballots.

Commissioner Jeff Barth visited Yankton County during that election where they used e-polling books.  He shared his observations during Tuesday's County Commission Meeting and says he was pleased with what he saw.  But he noticed election officials there did run into a few problems with scanning voters into the polls and getting voters to their correct polling locations.

Both Barth and County Auditor Bob Litz want to solely rely on e-polling books by the time we reach the 2014 primary election.

We'll look at how much they could cost the county tonight on KELOLAND News.
