Minnehaha County is struggling to keep up with growth.
Tuesday, county commissioners adopted a provisional 2015 budget worth more than $72 million.
While it may sound like a lot of money, it does not include new equipment or programs.
And despite requests, the Sheriff, State's Attorney and Public Defenders offices will not be able to add new positions. However, the budget does include a new court records officer for the jail.
A public hearing on the proposed budget will be held during the Minnehaha County Commission meeting at the beginning of September. The final fiscal year 2015 Minnehaha County Budget must be adopted by September 30, 2014.
