The deadline to sign up for the three-day, 109-mile Mickelson Trail Trek is Sept. 1 and there are still spots available for bicyclists.
The ride over the weekend of Sept. 19-21 runs from Edgemont to Lead-Deadwood.
It began as a celebration of the completion of the rails-to-trails project and continues as a way to introduce new riders to the trail.
The $180 registration fee includes the trail pass, shuttle service, refreshments and some meals. Riders are responsible for accommodations and mechanical support.
