The town of Menno is holding its 30th annual Oktoberfest on Saturday.
The ethnic celebration at the Menno School Auditorium features food, music and dancing.
The event is put on by the Sodak Stamm Germans from Russia Heritage Society.
President Gary Jerke says the festival started with just a small gathering and some homemade foods. The celebration now attracts nearly 500 patrons each year.
The meal begins at 6 p.m. with live music from the Bumble Bees beginning about 8:30 p.m.
The menu includes German sausage, liverwurst, baked apples, German potato salad, sauerkraut, cheese and crackers, buns, pickled watermelon and a salad bar.
