SIOUX FALLS, SD -
Augustana College has announced plans to hold a public memorial service for Daniel Swets, one of the victims in last week's deadly plane crash in Sioux Falls.
Swets was an associate professor of computer science at Augustana. He was traveling to Rapid City with Kevin Anderson and Joshua Lambrecht for the FIRST Lego League competition when the twin engine Cessna airplane piloted by Brian Blake crashed shortly after takeoff Friday in Sioux Falls. All four men were killed.
The school says in a news release that students, faculty and staff, and community members are invited to attend the memorial service scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday. The service will be held in Augustana's Chapel of Reconciliation.
